The Buster K910B Contraband Detector is a one piece assembly requiring only one hand for operation. During routine field use no components or subassemblies require, or permit, removal, other than replacement of the single standard 9V transistor battery, attachment of a separate, audible alarm headset, or the optional remote arm. The unit has a rubber grip pad surface for comfort and an integrally mounted safety wrist strap. The unit has an easily replaceable Velcro anti-scratch pad. A spare Velcro pad and display overlay panel are provided with each Buster.

Display
3 1/2 digit LCD with LO BAT and "minus sign" indicators. The display updates every 1/2 second and includes a pushbutton operated electroluminescent back light panel for use of the unit in dark spaces or at night.
A remote reading display and connecting cable are supplied with every
unit for ease of inspection

Source Shield Assy
Tungsten Carbon with stainless steel assembly parts. For maximum safety, the shield assembly is spring loaded and automatically retracts the source when the operating trigger is released. A visible RED indicator indicates when the source is in the operating position.

0.25 second per reading
Alarm
The unit is provided with an audible alarm driven by the microprocessor in the appropriate operating modes, producing 59db pulsed of 0.50 second duration when actuated. The alarm is not heard externally when the optional headset is plugged into the device..
Operation Modes
The unit is provided with a Raw Data Mode with no alarm and current valued display reading; a Data Scan Mode with alarm and current value plus display reading; a Zero Scan Mode with alarm and a zero based display value reading, Calibration Mode, and Self-Diagnosis Mode. A Lock Mode is also provided to temporarily lock the operating display for taking a reading in an inaccessible space.
Auto Alarm Trip
The microprocessor automatically adjusts the alarm trip point on an internal standard deviation calculation
formula, to assure the most sensitive operation.
Calibration
Each unit is provided with a Universal Calibration Standard, permitting all similar model units to be
calibrated to a common base. All units read the same, within ±2% of each other, after calibration. The calibration automatically compensates for decay of the source as well as routine internal component aging. This
calibration is easily carried out in the field within 30
seconds. The feature makes it possible to exactly
compare results on the telephone.
Battery
The unit uses only one commonly available 9V alkaline transistor battery, easily replaceable in the field by the user. The unit operates for
approximately three months on a single alkaline 9V transistor battery, operational life is therefore several months.
Carrying Case
The K910B unit is provided with a lockable high impact carrying case with internal foam padding for each component and with a document pocket for the manuals and accessories.
